The short version
We collect the least we can, we use it only to send what you asked for, and we never sell it.
What the Rebate Finder collects
The rebate results are shown to you without any contact details. If you choose to get reminders, we keep five things: your ZIP code, your cell number, your email (optional), whether your current system is gas or electric, and its age bracket (under 10, 10 to 15, or 15+ years). We never ask for a street address, date of birth, income, utility account number or Social Security number.
Text messages
We text you only if you check the consent box beside the cell number. The box is never pre-checked, and you do not need it to see your results. When you consent we keep a record of the consent text you saw, the time and the page. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. We do not share your number with installers or anyone else for their own marketing.
If you give an email, we use it to send your results, deadline reminders and the DMV Heat Pumps newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Business listings
DMV Heat Pumps lists businesses using publicly available business information (name, address, phone, website, hours, ratings). Business owners may request corrections or removal through the contact page.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It counts page views and events such as a completed Rebate Finder or a click on an official apply link. This site does not use advertising trackers.
Your rights
The Maryland Online Data Privacy Act gives Maryland residents the right to confirm whether we hold your data, see it, correct it, delete it and opt out of its sale or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We answer within 45 days. If we deny a request, reply to that answer to appeal.
Who processes it
Hosting, form delivery and email delivery are provided by third parties who process data on our behalf and only for these purposes. We keep reminder data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
